Step 2: Measure the Window

The measuring technique depends on whether you plan an "inside mount" or "outside mount".

• Inside Mount: The blinds are installed inside the window frame. The goal is to measure the exact inside dimensions.
• Outside Mount: The blinds are installed on the wall or trim above and around the window. The goal is to measure the window opening and add extra inches for better coverage.

Inside Mount:

1. Measure the Width: Measure the width of the window opening at the top, middle, and bottom. Record the smallest of these three measurements, rounding down to the nearest 1/8 inch. This is your order width.
2. Measure the Height: Measure the height of the window opening from the top of the inside frame to the sill in three places: left, center, and right. Record the largest of these measurements, rounding down to the nearest 1/8 inch. This is your order height.

Outside Mount:

1. Measure the Width: Measure the width of the window opening and add at least 2 inches to each side (4 inches total) for overlap. This helps block light and provide privacy.
2. Measure the Height: Measure the height of the window opening and add at least 2 inches to the top and bottom (4 inches total) for overlap. This ensures full coverage and light control.

Step 3: Input the Measurements into the Calculator
